We’re thrilled to announce that Dr. Jonathon Cottone has joined our Peninsula Dental office in Millsboro!
Dr. Cottone grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, but his ties to Sussex County run deep. He spent countless childhood summers here with family, building a strong connection to the area.
His academic journey began at the University of Delaware, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree, graduating Cum Laude with a double major in Plant Science and Animal Science. During his time at UD, he was honored as Plant Science Student of the Year and engaged in advanced research at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute.
Dr. Cottone pursued his dental degree at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he graduated in the top quarter of his class. His dedication earned him multiple awards for excellence in general dentistry and oral pathology. He further enhanced his clinical expertise during a VA Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency, where he honed skills in extractions, crown and bridge work, endodontics, sleep apnea treatments, and care for adult and geriatric patients.
What sets Dr. Cottone apart is his versatility. He has also gained extensive experience working with pediatric patients, making him well-suited to care for patients of all ages.
When he’s not practicing dentistry, Dr. Cottone enjoys Sussex County’s natural beauty, playing the piano, and taking on outdoor adventures like rock climbing and backpacking. An Eagle Scout, he embodies a spirit of leadership and dedication.
